Scope of Works:
- Fabricate 12 DN500 flanged trumpet pieces
- Fabricate 12 DN900 plated decant riser pipes
- Deliver to HWC site
Challenges
- Source large diameter stainless steel pipe to meet the project deadline
- Challenges for Passivation of material after welding due to the overall size of the pipe
- Focus on plate and flange orientation to line up with other contractors works
- Focus on safety for moving/unloading of large diameter pipe
- All workmanship and test plans required to HWC standards
Outcome
- All works completed safely and to HWC standard
- Plates and flanges aligned correctly after measuring locations on site
- All weld affected zones on the pipes/plates passivated correctly with pickling spray
- Safe operation procedure created and discussed with all workers/contractors for unloading and transporting large pipes
- Works completed on budget and before project deadline
- Quality management systems that were put in place by Future Group met all requirements for the project
